The Institute's work includes setting standards for professional services and performance, establishing codes of ethics, detemining requirement for admission as professional surveyors and encouraging members to upgrade skills through continuing professional. |

| HKIA has more that 1500 full members and over 300 associate members and graduate members. The Institute is governed by a Council formed by a President, two Vice-Presidents, an Honorary Secretary, an Honorary Treasure and 14 Council members. The two main purposes of the Institute are to continue to raise both the standard of architecture in Hong Kong and the standard of professional services offered by its members. |
